Voting at 248 centers in Bhatkal says DC office

Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Ismail Zaorez Karwar 06 March 2018: Voters in Uttara Kannada district can finally verify their names on the final list. A total of 5,74,532 male and 5,59,981 female voters are eligible to vote, according to details revealed at a press briefing by District Commissioner SS Nakul. According to the office of District commissioner, voter list of various constituencies is now ready and people can verify the name, addresses and other details by sending an SMS of the EPIC Number of their voter ID to 9731079899 to know their voting center and related details. In case the information is not provided by the call center, one can report the issue by calling the the toll Free number 1950 and can also inform the District Commissioner's office by calling on 1077. The Deputy Commissioner in a press conference recently, added that in Karwar Assembly Constituency there are 1,07,565 Male voters and 1,08,679 Female voters making the total number of votes in the constituency 2,16,244. There are 2,12,646 voters in Bhatkal constituency with 1,08,468 Male voters and 1,04,178 Female voters. Among other major constituencies, Haliyal has a total of 1,69,966 voters, Kumta Constituency has a total of 1,79,087 voters, Sirsi Constituency has a total a total of 1,88,377 voters and Yellapur has a total of 1,68,193 voters. The district has 1434 voting centers and Bhatkal taluka will be served by 248 centers as Haliyal will have 215 centersnand Karwar with 262 voting booths, Kumta with 215 centers, Sirsi with 264 centers and 230 centers at Yellapur Constituency. SS Nakul further added that the number of Voting Centers in a constituency is subject to be increased in case the administration finds it needful according to the situation.
