RIYADH: The maximum medical policy or contract for visitors is SR100,000, which covers expenses on emergency treatment, maternity charges, traffic accident injuries, dialysis and medical treatment in or outside the Kingdom. Making the above announcement, Council of Cooperative Health Insurance Secretary General Mohammed bin Salman Al-Hussein said the health insurance includes visitors applying for Saudi visa, extension of the visa and accidents. It, however, does not include pilgrims, diplomats, representatives of international organizations and visiting businessmen, he said. “The insurance coverage of visitors will be done through licensed local insurance firms and will take effect after all requirements have been fulfilled,” Al-Hussein said, adding that the medical services include bed, nursing care, medical supervision and food. The beneficiary will be entitled to services amounting to SR600 per day in an ordinary room, but the medical insurance beneficiary will be entitled to medicines and medical supplies, he said. If the insured person is forced to seek health care out of the network of the medical service provider, the insurance company will compensate in accordance with the policy and rules. Al-Hussein said the insured should submit the claim to the company within a period not exceeding 60 days from the date of incurring those expenses, taking into consideration that the compensation would be made after the company's approval. -arabnews
