Virender Sehwag to be dropped from Indian Test team?

NEW DELHI: Virender Sehwag might find it tough to retain his place in the Indian Test team for the remaining two Tests against Australia.
The selectors are looking for stability factor when the team is already 2-0 up in the series, but there are others in the committee, who feel that time has come for a change, as Sehwag is struggling to score big runs.
Sources said that if Sehwag is dropped the selectors won't name any replacement.
For the first two Test matches, the selectors named fifteen-member squad and now if Sehwag is left out, the squad will become 14.
And if that happens, Delhi's Shikhar Dhawan will make his Test debut to open the innings with Murali Vijay.
Now, it will be interesting to see how things unfold!
Even though India registered commanding victories in the first two Tests against Australia in Chennai and Hyderabad, the opening partnership between Sehwag and Murali Vijay could produce only 11, 16 and 17 runs. While Vijay scored a fine 167 in Hyderabad, Sehwag has totalled only 27 in his three innings.
Sehwag has failed to fire in five consecutive Tests after getting a hundred in the opening game of the home series against England at Ahmedabad in November-December last year.
He was unable to score even a half-century in two home Tests against New Zealand.
During India's last overseas tour, in Australia, Sehwag scored just 198 runs in eight innings.
