Uttara Kannada Football Association conducts football referee training and test in Bhatkal

Bhatkal, 30 March,2026: (Bhatkallys News Bureau)The Uttara Kannada District Football Association conducted a three-day referee examination programme in Bhatkal from March 27 to 29, aimed at training and certifying aspiring football referees.

The programme was organised under the supervision of the Karnataka State Football Association and its Referee Committee. Sessions were led by Sandeep Nanda from Kolkata, a national-level referee affiliated with the All India Football Federation.

Over the three days, participants underwent both theoretical and practical training sessions. On the final day, candidates were assessed through a fitness test followed by a written examination.
A total of 28 aspirants took part in the programme, representing different regions including Gulbarga, Bidar, Karwar, Shirur and Byndoor. Among them, 19 participants were students from Anjuman.

The event was organised in association with Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College, with support from Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen.
Officials said the initiative offers a valuable platform for young referees, as those who successfully clear the examination are likely to get opportunities to officiate matches at various levels. The results of the examination are expected to be announced within a month.
