Uttara Kannada Excise Department sets on fire 3500 liters of Alcohol seized during assembly elections

Karwar 06 June 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) About 3,500 liters of Alcohol that was seized while the election code of conduct was in force for Karnataka assembly elections was set on fire here at Majali of Karwar on Wednesday.
During the election code of conduct the alcohol that was smuggled from Goa to Karnataka was seized in huge quantities in different operations by the excise and police department, the seized alcohol of about 3500 liters estimated to be worth Rs. 7 lakh was spilled in a pit and set ablaze near Majali check post area of Karwar.
The Uttara Kannada Excise Deputy Commissioner Manjunath LA and other excise officials were present during this occasion.
