Uttar Pradesh: Girl throws acid on youth after he refuses to marry her, arrested by Aligarh police

Aligarh: Police in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh have arrested a girl after she allegedly threw acid on youth who refused to marry her. The incident took place on Thursday in Jeevangarh area of the district. The accused and the victim were reportedly in a relationship and the boy apparently refused to marry her. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Faizan. According to a report in ANI, the youth has burn injuries on his face and eyes. The girl has been arrested and booked under Section 326 (A) of the Indian Penal Code. "The youth's name is Faizan. He was having a love affair with the accused girl for the last six months. Since last month, the boy had been ignoring the girl and that is why she attacked him with acid," the report quoted Anil Simaniya CO, Civil Lines, as saying. The boy has been admitted to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Joint Hospital in the district. A doctor attending to the victim said he was admitted to the hospital after suffering injury from acid. The doctor said his eyes were affected in the attack and a team of doctors was attending to him. According to the boy's mother, the girl was continuously calling her son, but he did not take her calls. The girl again called the youth in the morning on the day of the acid attack. The woman said her younger son told her that the two were having an affair. "The girl was asking my son to marry her, but he refused her proposal. Later, the girl attacked him with acid," said the boy's mother. Source: Times Now
