Uttar Kannada to observe bandh on 8th June in protest against NH-66 widening

30th May 2013 /  Bhatkallys News Karwar: Uttar Kannada will observe bandh on 8th June to protest against several issues related to widening of National Highway - 66. This announcement was made in Karwar by the president of the committee opposing the widening of NH-66, K R Desai in a press conference. While requesting for cooperation from shopkeepers and traders, Desai, who is a lawyer by profession, said that they have got assurances of support from all assembly members of the district. While laying charges on the members of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) he said that if the highway is built according to the current plan, it will create a lot of trouble for people residing on the coastal belt.
