Unsuccessful attempt to abduct driver from Hubli

December 10, 2015 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: The Bhatkal police have arrested three highway robbers for allegedly attempting to abduct a taxi driver from Hubli. According to sources, the taxi driver, Jameel Ahmed was carrying three passengers from Hubli to Gokarna. When the car reached the Sirsi jungle, the trio allegedly told the taxi driver to get down from the vehicle. When the driver offered resistance, the trio allegedly tied him up and drove the vehicle. The matter came to light when the driver jumped from the vehicle at Petrol Bunk in Bhatkal and cried for help. The locals, including MLA Mankal Vaidya's vehicle that was passing the road that time chased the trio but they managed to fled after parking the car on Bengre National Highway. Later, Bhatkal police nabbed the trio and have registered a case against them. - ARF
