Around 250 workers gathered in front of a Dubai-based contracting company in Al Quoz area behind Al Khail Gate on Monday. They held a peaceful protest demanding payment of their pending salaries. The Dubai Police as well as labour committee authorities and workers' representatives rushed to the spot. They called the new owner of the company and ensured that the problem is solved at the earliest. The new owner of the company promised to pay the accumulated unpaid salaries to the workers within the next two days. Dr Mohamed Abdualla Al Murr, director of human rights department, said that the workers held the protest for payment of their delayed salaries.
