Unescorted Sheikh Mohammed surprises shoppers in Saudi Arabia

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, surprised shoppers in Saudi Arabia when he took time out of the Arab economic summit and visited malls in the Gulf Kingdom. Sheikh Mohammed made the unscheduled tour of some shopping outlets in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Tuesday without any guards normally assigned to high ranking officials, prompting shoppers to surround him for token photographs. “What attracted the shoppers was the absence of any security normally provided to senior officials when they make such tours.
