Unaccounted cash worth ₹50 Lakh, Gold bangles seized from private bus in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: 06 Nvember,25 (Bhatkallys News Bureua)  Police have seized unaccounted cash and gold ornaments worth lakhs from a private bus that arrived in Bhatkal from Mumbai. Officials said the money and jewellery were being transported as a parcel without any valid documents.

According to police sources, during an inspection, officers found a blue-coloured bag sent under the name Irfan. Inside the bag, they discovered around ₹50 lakh in cash and 401 grams of gold bangles.

As no documents were provided to establish ownership or explain the purpose of transportation, the cash and gold were seized on the spot. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Police Inspector Divakar and PSI Naveen.

Police said the seized valuables would be returned only if the rightful owner submits proper documents proving ownership.

An investigation is underway to identify both the sender and the intended recipient of the cash and gold.
