UKDFA Inter-School Football Tournament draws strong participation across Bhatkal

Bhatkal: 24 November,25 (Bhatkallys News Bureau)  The UKDFA Inter-School Football Tournament concluded on November 23 with an impressive turnout and spirited performances from school teams across the district. The four-day event, held from November 20 to 23 at the Anjuman multipurpose ground, was organised in association with Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College and witnessed a large gathering of students, parents and sports enthusiasts.

This year’s edition saw 21 schools taking part, playing more than 60 matches across six age categories, Under 6, Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 17. Organisers said the strong participation reflected the growing interest in football at the grassroots level and helped young players gain valuable match experience.

The participating institutions included New Shams School, Suffah Model School, Al Khair School, Jamia Islamia School, Anand Ashram Convent School, Bibi Montessori School, ABHS, Al Fitrah School, Ali Public School, Knowledge International School, Touheed Public School, Naunihaal Central School, Anjuman Noor School, Silver Sands International School, Green International School, GPUC School, Ittihad Public School, Siraate Mustaqeem School, GHPU Jamia Jali School, Hadavinkone Government School and UB Shetty School.

The tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where winners and runners-up in each category were honoured.

In the Under-6 category, Al Fitrah School emerged winners, with Suffah Model School finishing runners-up. Shams School won the Under-8 title, while Bibi Montessori took second place. Jamia Islamia School secured the Under-10 trophy, followed by Siraate Mustaqeem. In the Under-12 category, Shams School won, with Suffah finishing second. Shams also claimed the Under-14 title, while APS were runners-up. In the Under-17 category, Touheed Public School took the top spot, with UB Shetty School finishing second.

Organisers from UKDFA and Anjuman College said the tournament helped identify emerging football talent in the district and expressed hope of staging an even larger event next year.
