Udupi: Truck owners and operators association protest against mandatory installation of GPS

Bhatkallys News Bureau// Wafa Kifa Udupi 25 March 2018: A protest was carried out by Truck owners and operators association on the drawbacks of the installed GPS that are mandatory in trucks. The protest was held in front of Udupi DC Office on Saturday. Gunakar Shatty, President of the association said that the installed GPS are of poor quality and works only within a district limit which is of no worth. On pretext of checking the equipment, the officers are harassing the truck operators, blamed Shetty. The protesters also urged the administration to permit sand extraction from sand bars in the district.
