Bhatkallys News Bureau/ I. Zaorez Shabab Udupi 07 Nov 2017: Amidst all the opposition for the state sponsored Tipu Jayanti, from the BJP and its affiliates the Udupi district administration has decided to impose section 144 across the district from 9.00 am on Nov 8 upto 9.00 am of Nov 11 as a precautionary step to avoid any law and order situation in the district. Udupi Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary, who issued the orders told the media persons that keeping a few 'Sensitive' towns/places of the district, it is likely that members of few organization may protest and try to create law and order situation, and hence the orders have been issued. However, the government offices where the Tipu Jayanti events have been scheduled will be an exception for the orders. The BJP has been very critical about celebrating the 18th century ruler as a Government event, and has previously protested the event through violence at several places across the state, while the Siddaramaiah government has cleared its stance to celebrate the Tipu Jayanti every year from the government funds.
