Udupi: EC to set up 17 'Pink' polling booths managed completely by women across the district

Udupi 28 April 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The preparation for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections are on full swing by the district administration of Udupi and election commission. The district administration and election commission are also busy in setting up various 'Pink' polling booths to encourage women voters to turn up for voting during the elections. Around 17 pink polling booths managed completely by women will be set up during the Assembly Election in Udupi District. 10 of these booths will be in Udupi Constituency while two each would be in Kaup, Karkala and Kundapur with one pink booth in Byndoor. Since 'pink' color is generally associated with women. The step aims to attract more women to come out and vote.
