Udupi: District jail's prisoners shifted to Karwar District jail; know the reason why

Bhatkallys News Bureau Udupi: The district jail in Hiriadka is all set to undergo renovation. Hence the prisoners here were shifted to Karwar District jail with heavy police protection on January 20, Saturday. The district jail is located in Anjaru of Hiriadka which was built in 2009. Since the kitchen wall and a part of barrel had developed a cracks and due to which it had collapsed last year, the authorities had to get it repaired. Hence, the renovation of wall, construction of underground drainage system and painting of building is under process. According to the sources, the prisoners will be brought back after the renovation process gets completed. Around 91 prisoners along with the 15 staff were shifted.
