Udupi 28 Dec 2017: Udupi Block Congress on Wednesday took out a protest rally against Central Cabinet Minister Anant Kumar Hegde's 'Changing Constitution' remark and BJP's involvement in Danamma rape and murder case.
Addressing the protesters Janardhan Bandarkar, municipality councilor questioned the eligibility of Anant Kumar Hegde for being a central cabinet minister and called on PM Narendra Modi to immediately sack him from his post as minister. He further said that if BJP comes to power in 2019, they will surely change the constitution.
Speaking of the communal clashes in the coastal region of the state he said, 'The history of communal clashes here dates back to 1992 when LK Advani organized 'Rath Yatra' and instigated violence among communities, now BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje is trying her best to instill violence in the coastal region to later use it for their political gains during assembly elections".
Sathish Amin, Udupi Block Congress President, alleged the involvement of BJP Party members in Danamma rape and murder case and said that is the reason behind the silence of BJP. He added "Danamma is also a Hindu so why the BJP is silent on this case while they claim of fighting for the safety of Hindus?, they actually want to change the constitution to keep the lower class people sidelined under their dictatorship.
