Two killed in a road accident at Manki

Manki 30 October 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) In a tragic road accident between a container, Truck and a local tempo, two died on the spot while 10 others were critically injured here at NH-66 near Gunavante of Manki on Tuesday 30 Oct. The deceased have been identified as Raju Timmappa Gowda(40) and Annappa Manjunath Naik(40), both are resident of Manki. While the injured have been identified as Mohan Nagappa Hallere,Manjunath Gowda, Govindaraj Naik, Sukru Marati, Viru Singh, Sumukh Sikka,Nagim Jilani Munna, Muksa Annappa Naik, Saila Venkatesh Naik and Raju Gowda. The Manki police speaking to Bhatkallys.com said that an over-speeding container truck which was moving towards Honnavar rammed into a local tempo as an impact the tempo rolled over beside the road, however, the container later rammed into another truck carrying stones that was coming from the opposite direction. Driver and cleaner of the truck carrying construction stone died on the spot while, about ten passengers from the local tempo got severely injured. The deceased were later taken to government Hospital of Manki for post mortem. The impact of the accident disrupted the traffic for about three hours along the national highway. However, Honnavar CPI Cheluvaraj, along with other police personnel cleared the traffic jam from the accident spot.
