Two held for cattle smuggling in Ankola

Ankola 17 October 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The forest officials of Ankola Taluka in a joint operation with the police department on Tuesday night arrested two men while allegedly smuggling cattle here at Dongri region of Ankola Taluka.
The detained has been identified as Ragavendra Naik (30) and Sandeep Naik (32), both are resident of Ankola Taluka.
According to the reports, on Tuesday night when the two accused on two different vehicles were trying to smuggle about 10 bulls and 1 Buffalo in their respective Mahindra pick up tempo, the forest officials along with police personnel conducted a raid on both the vehicles near the check post and found them having no adequate documents for transporting the cattle.
The police then, immediately arrested both the accused and seized the vehicle.
The police also found a bull dead inside the vehicle during the raid.
A case has been registered at Ankola police station.
