Bhatkal: 20 May 2021 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Due to the rising number of Corona cases in Uttara Kannada, the district’s Deputy Commissioner, Mullai Muhilan, has declared a two-day complete lockdown across the district, beginning at 6 a.m. on May 22, 2021, and ending at 6 a.m. on May 24, 2021, effective until 6 p.m.
During this time, all businesses will be closed, and no one will be able to leave the house. No rides of any sort will be permitted. According to a press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner, certain drastic measures were taken to control the increasing Corona cases in the district and break the infection chain. He explained that the decision was made because the district’s markets are extremely busy on weekends, putting them at high risk of spreading corona. In his declaration, the Deputy Commissioner stated that no movement of any sort will be permitted during these two days. People would, however, be able to go out for treatment or in an emergency. According to the deputy commissioner, no commercial activities will be permitted during these two days, but those selling essential products (milk, vegetables, fruits, and so on) will be able to sell at home.
Sirsi, Sidapur, Yellapur, and Mandgod, according to DC, have been declared special containment zones and have been fully sealed off. He stated that any infringement over the next two days would be met with harsh legal action, and a lawsuit would be filed against him.
