Two Bhatkal youngsters dies after drowning in Shirur

Bhatkal 2 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Two local youngsters who had gone for swimming in Shirur along with their friends, died after drowning in the lake on Sunday September 2 evening, at Kodmakki (Junglee Peer) of Shirur. The deceased have been identified as Raju (32) and Zameer (21), both residents of Kargedde in Bhatkal. According to the reports, Raju was a daily wage laborer and used to climb coconut trees. Raju is survived by wife and two kids. Zameer on the other hand was a B.A graduate and was a student of M.A in Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce college Bhatkal. Speaking to Bhatkallys.com a close source of family of Zameer said "They went along with their friends to give treat to them as they both had recently bought new bikes". BMYF President Imtiyaz Udyawar, who along with other social workers of the town rushed to the spot confirmed that the bodies of both the victims were recovered by the police with the help of local youths. "The bodies have been recovered, they are now been shifted to Byndoor government hospital for post-mortem and will be brought to Bhatkal after formalities" Imtiyaz added from Shirur.
