Bhatkal - 27 May 2011: Two Bangaloreans drowned here in Hinjale River some 25 km from Bhatkal which comes under Hadavalli gram panchayath limits. The incident took place in the evening when 3 Bangaloreans with their Bhatkali friends were swimming in the river. The deceased have been identified as Shakir (22) and Nayeem (23). Bhatkal CPI, Mr Guru Mathur visited the site and sent the dead bodies to Bhatkal Govt Hospital for post-mortem.
It may be noted that, Hinjale is a remote place located 25 km from Bhatkal town which is surrounded by dense forest and high rise mountains. There are very few people living in that area and there is nothing special over there except small Rivulet and dense forest. Unfortunately, if something happens over there, it is very difficult to reach Hospital and inform anyone as there is very difficult to get mobile phone networks. When 'bhatkallys.com' reporter approached local people, they said that this area is very dangerous and full of wild animals, even we lock ourselves indoor before sunset but many people along with their wives and children visit here and spend whole night which is very dangerous.
'Bhatkallys.com' requests people of Bhatkal especially women and children to avoid visiting Hinjale and do not wander in that area as it is not safe.
