Two arrested in Murdeshwar police raid on speed card gambling den in Bailur

Bhatkal Jan25: (Bhatkallys News Bureau)  Murdeshwar police raided a gambling spot operating through speed cards at Bailur in Bhatkal taluk and arrested two persons, seizing cash and two motorcycles during the operation.

According to the police, the raid was carried out near a small shop along the Bailur roadside by a team led by Murdeshwar Police Sub-Inspector Hanamant Biradar. During the operation, several persons were found engaged in gambling using speed cards.

Those present at the spot were identified as Dinesh Iraiyya Devadiga, Ishwar Manjunath Devadiga, Subraya Nagappa Naik and Praveen Ravi Naik, along with others. The police seized ₹6,020 in cash and two motorcycles from the scene and arrested Dinesh and Manjunath.

However, Subraya, Praveen and another person who was riding one of the motorcycles managed to flee from the spot before the police could detain them.

A case has been registered at the Murdeshwar police station, and further investigation is underway. Police said efforts are being made to trace and apprehend the absconding accused.
