Twin accidents claim 2 lives, severely injure 2 in Bhatkal

  January 20, 2016 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Two people died and two more were injured critically in separate road-related accidents on Tuesday evening, sources informed. A elderly woman, identified as Lukma (68) of Chikbalapur died after she was struck by a lorry on Tuesday, sources informed Bhatkallys. Another lady identified as Darma Ramya who was also struck by the same lorry sustained severe injuries and was shifted to Kundapur after providing first-aid treatment at Government Hospital in Bhatkal. The accident took place at around 9.30pm near Shamsuddin Circle when both the women were crossing the road. In another unrelated accident that took place at around 10.30 pm at Moodbhatkal, a tanker loaded with kerosene and a lorry collided head-on. As a consequence, the tanker driver, identified as Balakrishna of Beltangdi was killed on the spot and lorry driver, identified as Tabrez Mulla (39) sustained severe injuries and was shifted to Kundapur. - ARF
