Truck catches fire on Sirsi-Kumta Highway; Driver, cleaner manages miraculous escape

Kumta 27 August 2019: A truck on Kumta-Sirsi Highway on Tuesday caught fire due to engine failure when it was travelling on Devimane Ghat Highway here. According to the reports the truck caught fire due to a technical glitch in the engine, the truck was soon charred down by the fire and was reduced to ashes. The truck driver and cleaner escaped miraculously during the incident with minor injuries, no casualties have been reported in the incident. Fire brigade rushed to the spot and turned down the fire. A case has been registered at Kumta Police station.
