Tree branch falls on Venkatpur National Highway injuring two women

23rd May 13 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal - A huge tree branch fell today afternoon on NH-66 Venktapur causing severe injuries to two women walking along the roadside. They have been identified as Mahadevi Ramakrishna (52) and Shardha Gangadhar (45). According to sources, these women were returning home after attending a marriage ceremony at Venkatraman temple located near this tree when this incident took place. Immediately after the incident, both were rushed to Government Hospital Bhatkal, provided essential first-aid treatment and then sent to Kundapur. As a consequence of the branch falling, electric poles nearby also collapsed causing traffic congestion on the National Highway. On this occasion, forest officers and police officers visited the site and took stock of the situation.
