Traffic awareness program held in Bhatkal

The Number of road accidents in town has been on alarmingly high lately


Bhatkal, 10 July 2016: A traffic awareness program was held in Bhatkal by Rotary Club in association with the local Police department on Saturday. PSI Bhatkal town police station spoke about the reason for organizing such awareness program and briefed the function about how traffic has become an vital issue of the town, he further added traffic rules are intended to be enforced strictly in town and this has to be taken seriously by every passerby and hence the awareness program had been organized. Speaking on the occasion, Advocate SM Khan expressed concerns over the growing traffic in town and pressed on youth to follow the traffic rules strictly, who often are noticed to be driving negligently. Newly posted lady PSI of the Bhatkal Town police Station, Revathi, addressed the attendees and said controlling the traffic is a major task and Police department alone cannot tackle it, she inserted the co-operation from the general public is an essential factor to come over it. It is to be noted that there has been a rise in number of road accidents in town which has resulted in many deaths and people being  grievously injured lately, the program is second of its kind in a short span of time. Earlier local sport club Labbaik Nawayath had organized similar awareness program by taking a rally out in the town and meanwhile local Organization, Rabita society has also come up with few plans of traffic awareness campaign which is likely to be started by the end of this year, to bring the numbers of accidents under control in town. Among others who were present at the programme were, Ishwar Naik, Nazir Kashimji, Shakeer, Abdul Razzak and other police officials.
