Traders get angry over municipality's action of removing hoarding boards.

Since last few days, Municipal Corporation of Bhatkal has been removing hoardings from road-side for those who have not registered or not paid the charges. Today also, municipality continued this action as their workers continued removing the hoardings, and when they reached Zain Lodge, a huge crowd of people started gathering near them. When Zain Lodge's owner questioned the Municipal Officer, an employee of the municipality intervened in between, and matter turned sensitive.

On this occasion, the native traders were saying that all these hoardings were put after taking due permission from the Municipal Corporation, then what is the meaning of this sudden action taken by the municipality.

It should be kept in mind that, whether its an area falling under jurisdiction of Municipality or Panchayat, they need to take permission from Municipality to put these hoardings and they need to pay the charges every month based on size in square feet of the hoarding. The municipality holds rights to take action against those who do not implement this.
