Tourist Tempo overturns near Shiroor, 1 killed

21st June 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: A 12-years old passenger died and several others suffered injuries when a Tourist tempo overturned at Autheni National Highway on NH-66 near Shiroor on Friday morning. There were total 18 passengers in the tempo and were returning back to Kumta after visiting Kolor temple when this incident occurred. The accident occurred when the driver while trying to prevent a collision with the vehicle coming from the opposite direction, turned the tempo towards the edge of the road due to which the tempo lost the stability and overturned. Immediately after the incident, locals cooperated to rush those who suffered minor injuries to a nearby hospital and the severely injured ones were sent to Manipal and Kundapur. This case has been registered at Byndoor police station.
