Tight security for upcoming MLA elections

Bhatkal - A.S.P. of Bhatkal, Mr. Sudhir Reddy, in a press conference invited by him, gave information about strict security arrangements that will be put into place in view of assembly elections to be held on May 05, 2013. Giving details about this, he mentioned that, in order to ensure that election is peacefully held, a special police task force has been arranged. In this, two CRPF, 3 BSF and 5 para-military forces will be deployed. Apart from these, check posts will be arranged at four places in Bhatkal viz. Sarpan Katta, Shirali, Kantwani, and Gorte and CCTV cameras will be installed for keeping the watch. On this occasion, while stressing the importance for the candidate to follow the election rules, he informed that timings for ad campaigns as set by Election Commission is from 6am to 10pm. While informing of the measures taken for security arrangements, he mentioned that, they have taken 1500 licensed pistols from Bhatkal assembly constituency into their custody.
