Three tourists from Bangalore drowns in Murdeshwar Sea

Bhatkal - 24 July 2011: Three tourists from Bangalore drowned here at Murdeshwar Sea today morning when they went for swimming in a rough sea. They have been identified as Vivek Venkatramaniah, Tejas Manjunath and Dininraj, all are final year BBM students of NIITE College Bangalore.

According to the sources, a group of seven students from Bangalore have arrived at 8:00 am here at Murdeshwar in their private vehicle and after performing pooja at the temple, went for a swimming in the Sea located next to the temple. As they were new to this place, they were unaware of nature of the sea during Monsoon season and swept away by a huge wave and suddenly disappeared into the waters.

Search operation is underway in full swing but the dead bodies have not yet been recovered due to rough weather.
