Three seriously injured in collision between ambulance and bike on Sagar road Bhatkal

Bhatkal 23 July 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Three persons sustained serious injuries after a speeding ambulance rammed into a bike at Sagar road near Sabatte cross of Bhatkal here on Sunday, 22 July. The injured have been identified as Krishna Naik(51), his daughter Suchitra Naik (15) and his brother-in-law's daughter Kavya Naik (3) all residents of Konar village. While the driver of the ambulance has been identified as Rajasab Abbigeri of Hubli. According to the sources, Krishna along with two other victims was heading towards Bhatkal from Konar on his splendor bike. However, the ambulance from the opposite direction maintained its speed on a road curve and thus rammed into Krishna's bike causing injuries to the victims. The victims were rushed to Government hospital of Bhatkal for initial treatment and were later shifted to a private hospital in Manipal. The accused driver fled from the spot after the incident but Bhatkal rural police later arrested him. A case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police station. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/Fristen Dias)
