Three injured as lightning strikes Kumta house

Kumta 25 May 2018: Uttara Kannada District on Thursday night witnessed yet another night of thundershowers as several towns and villages across the district were battered by the heavy rains. In an similar incident three members of a family were reported to be critically injured when the lightening struck their house near Burgi of Kumta on Thursday 24 May 2018.
The victims have been identified as Devraya Pataghar, Lakshmi Pataghar, and Hema.
According to the sources the family was having dinner when the lightening struck the house resulting in the roof's collapse injuring the three, the victims were rushed to local Government hospital by the locals.
A request for the compensation for the family has been submitted to the concerned authorities, informed a neighbor of the victim family.
