Three government schools of Bhatkal set to get 'English Medium' status

Bhatkal 22 May 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Complying by its promise made during the Karnataka assembly elections last year, the state government is set to begin English medium education in Government schools across the state. In the course of scheme three government schools in Bhatkal have been selected to begin English medium education in the Taluka. The course will begin from academic year 2019-20.
As the strength of students in Government schools across the state has seen a drastic fall over the years and most of the parents wishing their student to study in English medium schools for quality education, the state government has taken steps to uphold the interest of students towards Government school.
Government Higher Primary School Bailur, Government Higher Primary School Gorte and Government Model Higher Primary School Tarnamakki have been selected to start English medium education beginning from 2019-20 academic year. While Government Higher Primary School and Government High School of Chittar and Model Higher Primary School of Manki have been selected for the same from Honnavar Taluka.
Moreover, Government Higher Primary School and Government High School of Bailur have been selected among the 100 Karnataka Public Schools(KPS) which will add up to existing 176 KPS that will begin from the Upcoming Academic year 2019-20.
Karnataka Public School is a concept introduced by the State government to reduce the number of dropouts from primary school to high school. Students will join the school at LKG, which will be the entry point, and will study till class 12 in a single campus.
