Three chains snatched within 24 hours in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Chain-snatchers took advantage of the festival rush and struck in three places within 24 hours. At 10pm Wednesday, Haslekha, 31, was speaking to a few friends outside the Basaveshwara Sugnana Kalyana Mantapa, Vijaynagar, west Bengaluru, when two men on a black Pulsar grabbed her 48-gm gold chain and sped away. Haslekha, a resident of Mahalakshmipuram, had been to a wedding. In Mico Layout, south Bengaluru on Thursday, a 60-year-old woman and resident of Vijaya Bank Layout was robbed of her gold chain. Prabhavathi was returning home after buying groceries at 2.30pm when two men on a bike approached her from behind, snatched her 50gm chain and fled. At 5.30pm, Shwetha, a resident of JP Nagar, was out shopping for groceries ahead of Varamahalaskmi Vratha festival when %two bike-borne men snatched her 80-gm gold chain before fleeing. -TOI
