Threat to PM's life was reason for cancelling Krishna Matt visit : Shobha

Udupi: State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party Shobha Karandlaje on May 2, claimed that threat to Prime Minister Modi's life was the reason for cancellation of his visit to Sri Krishna Matt. Responding to a media query, Shobha said that SPG had advised the PM not to visit the Sri Krishna Matt citing danger to his life. Shobha Karandlaje also added that the prime minister regretted that he could not visit the temple this time due to security reasons. Modi had visited Udupi on May 1 and addressed a huge gathering. He was scheduled to visit the Sri Krishna Matt. However, only hours before his visit the plans were cancelled. This had disappointed many and they had demanded to know the reasons for the cancellation. Source: News Karnataka
