Thousands attend Bhatkal Community Kabaddi Cup

Dubai - State and national level Kabaddi players from Kerala and Karnataka pitted their best foot forward at the Sharjah Wanderer's Club. The event hosted by Bhatkal Community Dubai saw the participation of 15 teams with more than 23 matches played with great enthusiasm by 14 participating teams. Three teams from Bhatkal showed their might in the tournament before the lone-qualifier, Bhatkal Marhaba bowed out in the semi-final stages of the game. Hammad Siddiqua, Imran Khateeb, Samiullah and players from the Bhatkal Marhaba team were pitted out in a highly-charged match against Red Star Dubai. Kerala Brothers Kondal lost out to Victory Pallam (A) in the second semi-final. Thousands of sports enthusiasts turned up for the Kabaddi matches which were being played on three different courts. In the finale, a tie-breaker had to decide the winner between Red Star and Victory Pallam (A) as scores were level on 2 all after the final whistle. The final five raids to decide the tie break were capitalised by Red Star Dubai. All in all the members of BMJ(D) hosted a successful sporting event.
