This elections blind voters in Uttara Kannada can cast votes easily; District administration introduces new facility for the first time in the state

Karwar 06 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The District Administration of Karwar has introduced the braille lipi brochure for the first time in the state to facilitate the blind voters across the district.

The district administration has taken a step forward for the blinds after providing opportunity of scuba diving and paragliding to the them in-order to attract them for casting their vote in the upcoming assembly election.

The chief executive of Zilla Panchayat L Chandra Shekar said, "There are about 1496 blind voters in the district. However 1500 braille lipi brochures have been printed in Bangaluru and have been sent to the home of blind voters already".

He also added that participation of these voters is most important in assembly election that is going to be held on May 12.

However the EVM also have braille lipi so that the blind voters can vote their preferred candidate. The district administration has taken these steps so that no one can miss out the opportunity to vote in the upcoming election assembly election.
