Thank you Bhatkal, says Inayatullah

"Politics is like any other game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. Today, it was not our day and we have to return with our hopes kept high for the future." These were the words of Inayatullah Shabandri, JD(S) candidate from the Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency, who was speaking with Bhatkallys.com over the phone while returning from Kumta to Bhatkal. Disappointed with the end result, Inayatullah was upbeat about the support from the Nawayath community, as he thanked Majlis-e-Islah Wa Tanzeem and the people of Bhatkal for believing in him. "I would like to thank the people of Bhatkal who supported me throughout the campaign and put forward a united front. It also sends a strong message to political parties who have noted our strength after the results came out," he added. Emotions were running high with excitement and adrenalin all through the morning as votes from the 234 booths were being counted. Excellent voter turn out made the political ballgame anyone's for the taking as a clear winner was undecided till late in the counting. A press meet will be held later today by Inayatullah Shabandri where he will speak in detail about his election campaign.
