Thalassaemia patient's khakhi dream comes true

Bengaluru: A pre-teen boy, suffering from Thalassaemia took charge as the honorary in-charge of VV Puram police station for a day on Tuesday, July 24. The boy, Shashank (12) who aspires to don the Khaki uniform some day, expressed his desire of becoming a police officer while he was undergoing treatment for Thalassaemia at the Vani Vilas hospital. His dream came true when South Division DCP S D Sharanappa granted him permission and let him take charge of the police station for one day. On Tuesday, the young boy arrived at the station in the police jeep and was introduced to the staff at the station. Later he did the rounds of the station where he visited the lock-up and the weapon room. Before dropping Shashank back to the hospital DCP S D Sharanappa gifted him a toy gun and a walkie-talkie and hoped that his dream of becoming a cop materialises in the future.
