Terror threat sounded in Telangana and Andhra

A high alert has been sounded on the eve of Republic Day on Thursday in the two Telugu speaking States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The alert followed in the wake of warning by terrorist groups. The IB has warned that there was possibility of the SIMI and IM groups activate sleeper cells. Following the IB alert, the police of both the States steeped up security and all precautions have been taken for Republic Day celebrations. Meanwhile, Shamshabad International airport was alerted and air passengers of international and domestic flights were asked to report at the airport two hours before departure of the plane. Passengers and those who are reaching the airport to see off their dear ones are being thoroughly checked by the security personnel. (NSS)
