Tense situation in Bhatkal after Auto-Drivers Gheraoed Police Station

Bhatkallys News Service/ Rizwan Gangavali Tension prevailed in Town, as Auto Drivers gheraoed Bhatkal Town Police Station after Police allegedly harassed an auto driver in the name of Investigative enquiry. Bhatkal: Weeks after Raw Meat was found in a plastic bag in the premises of a Temple here in Kokti Nagar area of Bhatkal, Police had summoned one Uday Gonda, for enquiry after which he was let off by the police. Then came the twist in the story when Uday Gonda made allegations of harassment by police during enquiry, and claimed to be threatened to confess to the crime forcefully, he went on and complained the same to the office bearers of Auto Drivers Unions, following which the Union came into action and gheraoed the police station. Town PSI, Ms Revathi denied all charges and called it baseless, which further added fuel to the anger of  the auto drivers, who by the time had gathered in hundreds on VT road and Main road, demanding Police to stop harassing people and investigate the issue with due course of law. Auto Drivers Union president Venkatesh Naik, Naeem, Shirish Naik, Manju Naik, Mastappa Naik were among present on the scene
