Taxi drivers, owners demand new taxi stand in Bhatkal, submits memorandum to AC and Tahsildar

Bhatkal: 13 October 2021 (Bhatkallys News Bureau)  The local taxi drivers and owners union on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the Tahsildar of Bhatkal demanding an alternate plot for taxi stand as the existing taxi stand in the town will be brought down during the extension of National Highway. Stating that the existing taxi stand in the town located opposite to KSRTC Bus Stand will be subject to be evacuated during the extension of National Highway that is already progressing, the memorandum suggested the plot which was previously occupied by KSRTC as bus stand was now vacant after the new bus stand became operational, and that the previous bus stand can now be converted to taxi stand. It further added that the move will be convenient for both passengers and taxi drivers and owners alike. President of the union Faisal Peerzade, Vice President Uday Naik presented the memorandum while union members Ramesh Naik, Ravi Naik, Sarafaraz, Jagadish Naik, Mohan Naik, and others were present at the Tahsildar Office while submitting the memorandum.
