Tanzeem elects Inayatullah Shabandri as its candidate for Assembly Polls

Bhatkal – 23 Dec 2012: Majlis Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal in its landmark decision elected Mr Inayatullah Shabandri as its candidate for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly polls. The decision was taken today morning at a meeting held at Tazeem hall in the presence of representatives from different organizations of the district. Prior to announcing his candidature, members of Tanzeem’s political panel went through a secret ballot in which Inayatullah secured 30 votes against other contestants Mr Muzammil Kazia 18 and Mr Sadullah Damda 1 respectively. It may be interesting to note that, in previous election, Tanzeem recommended congress canadidate Mr J D Naik for the MLA election and he won the seat. But this time the Tanzeem was under pressure to announce Muslim candidate for the elections. Inayatullah Shabandri belongs to JD(S) and is currently a President of Bhatkal Municipality. It is believed that, after getting green signal from Tanzeem, JD(S) ticket is confirmed for Inayatullah Shabandri. Bhatkallys News Service / Rizwan Gangawali
