Tanzeem Delegation meets HESCOM engineer over frequent power cuts in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: In response to repeated public complaints over frequent power disruptions in Bhatkal, a delegation from Majlis-e-Islah-o-Tanzeem met HESCOM Assistant Engineer Manjunath on Tuesday morning to discuss the issue.

During the meeting, Majlis-e-Islah-o-Tanzeem General Secretary Abdul Raqeeb M.J. expressed concern over the irregular power supply in the town during the month of Ramzan, stating that the interruptions are causing considerable inconvenience to residents.

Responding to the concerns, Assistant Engineer Manjunath said that the power outages are occurring due to overloading in the system. He explained that when the load increases beyond capacity, the supply is temporarily shut down and later restored after a short interval.

He clarified that the disruptions are not intentional and are not being carried out deliberately by the department. According to him, in order to manage the load and maintain supply in Bhatkal town, electricity is temporarily diverted by cutting supply to some nearby rural areas for short periods.

He assured the delegation that the department would extend full cooperation in addressing the issue.

Apart from Abdul Raqeeb M.J., the delegation included Jelani Shabandri, Ashfaq K.M., Imshad Mukhtasar, Abdul Samie Kola and Abdul Samie Medical.
