Chennai: After Madras High Court upheld the disqualification of 18 rebel AIADMK MLAs yesterday, they will move the Supreme Court against the order. One of the MLAs Thanga Tamil Selvan from the rebel faction on Friday said they will approach the apex court within 1- 3 months on their lawyer's advice. “Our advocate says that there are many drawbacks in this verdict by Madras High Court. Within 30 to 90 days, we will approach Supreme Court," said Thanga Tamil Selvan. The verdict by Madras High Court ensured the longevity of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami-led government in Tamil Nadu. The verdict was given by Justice M Sathyanarayanan who was named by the Supreme Court as the third judge after the split verdict of an earlier bench consisting of Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M Sundar. Earlier, Chief Justice Indrani Banerjee in the split verdict upheld the disqualification under the anti-defection law. The MLAs were disqualified on 18 September 2017. Justice Huluvadi G Ramesh appointed Justice S Vimala as the third judge in the case. However, aggrieved over the choice of judge, MLAs belonging to the TTV camp approached the Supreme Court seeking the case be transferred to the apex court. After hearing their petition, on June 27th, the SC refused a transfer of the case but asked Justice Sathyanarayanan of the Madras High Court to hear the case. After 12 days of day to day hearing, Justice M Sathyanarayanan reserved the orders on August 31st. Source:  Times Now
