Syed Khalil resigns from Jamia Islamia Shura

Dubai -S.M. Syed Khalil announced his resignation from the Shura Council of Jamia Islamia (Bhatkal) following the turn of events on the last day of Jamia's Education Convention in Bhatkal.

In a letter addressed to the Nazim of Jamia, Syed Khalil said, "It was not my intention to dishonour the success of Jamia's education convention but to clarify the image of Bhatkal and Anjuman, which was misrepresented (during the convention)."

He added, "Following these events, I do not feel it is right for me to continue as a member of Jamia's Shura. Therefore, I am resigning from the Shura."

Keeping with the spirit of communal unity and harmony, Khalil reiterated his support for Jamia Islamia as he said, "I will always co-operate, support and help in the development of Jamia Islamia."

The Shura is an executive body of Jamia Islamia which manages and governs the affairs of the institution.
