Suspected 'explosive materials' seized from passenger at Mangalore Airport

Mangalore, Sep 14: Tension prevailed at Mangalore International Airport after suspected "explosive materials" (as per the claims of CISF) were found in possession of a passenger on Saturday night. Unconfirmed sources identified the passenger as Mohammed Abdul Khader from Periye Uppala in Kasargod district, who reportedly had booked a Jet Airways ticket to fly into Dubai. It is learnt that when sleuths of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) began to check luggage of the passenger, they reportedly found a tab and some liquid, which may or may not be explosive. The luggage was immediately seized and passenger was detained and taken into the custody of CISF for further investigations. Following the incident security has been beefed up at the airport and other strategic areas in the city. The seized materials were placed in an open area and cordoned off under the supervision of bomb detection squad. Police sources said that a bomb squad from Bangalore also is reaching Mangalore.
