Sunil Naik takes oath as Bhatkal MLA

Bhatkal 19 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sunil Naik on Saturday took oath as the MLA of Bhatkal after winning the elections beating sitting MLA of Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency Mankal Vaidya.
Sunil defeated Mankal Vaidya by a margin of over 5900 votes on the May 12th elections. Sunil along with all the elected MLAs was administered oath in Vidhan Soudha on Saturday.
The BJP on the other hand failed to prove its majority in the assembly after claiming stakes of forming the government following which CM Yeddiyurappa after serving the office for only two days, stepped down from the post making him one of the shortest serving CM of all times.

Mankal who was riding high upon his developmental work and was expecting a comfortable victory in the elections had raised doubts over the malfunctioning of the EVMs used in the election and had filed a complaint with the electoral officer.
