"Such remarks not acceptable" Bhatkal Block Congress condemns former MLA Sunil Hegde's remarks on Deshpande

Bhatkal 16 March 2019:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) Condemning former Haliyal MLA Sunil Hegde's remarks on minister RV Deshpande where he termed the latter as ‘Commission Pande’, Bhatkal Block Congress members called a press conference in a private hotel of Bhatkal here on Saturday. Addressing the press conference, Bhatkal Block Congress President Santosh Naik said, “Minister RV Deshpande has brought more funds to his constituency in a month than what was not brought by Hegde in his entire tenure. Everyone knows what Hegde and his party has done there" he said. He further added that 'freedom of speech' shall not allow people to call a reputed minister as 'Commission Pande'. "Let him argue about development and politics. But, targeting a minister personally and calling him as ‘Commission Pande’ is not acceptable” he said. Zilla Panchayat President Jayashree Moger also spoke at the press conference and said, “The people in the district knows what Deshpande has done for the people. As an Zilla Panchayath president, I have seen his efforts and dedications for the district. Targeting a minister personally is condemnable. As the election are approaching such comments are made to divert the mind of people from main issues.” The block congress members in the meeting warned to conduct a protest against him if it is repeated again in future. On this occasion Block Congress ex-president Vittal Naik, Rama Moger, FK Moger, ZP member Sindhu Baskhar Naik, Abdul Majeed, Satish Acharya and others were present duirng the meeting.
